Texas Monthly’s Taco Triumph
Kicking off the week with a bang, Texas Monthly unveiled its highly anticipated Top 50 Best Tacos in Texas report. Among the esteemed establishments featured is Jimenez Tortilleria y Taqueria, located at 4606 34th St. This local gem has captured the hearts of taco lovers, and the taco editor specifically praised their Three Amigos taco plate.
In a heartfelt message shared on social media, the restaurant expressed its gratitude, stating, “To be on this Top 50 Taco list is a huge honor, and we can’t wait to progress with all these phenomenal Taco Shops. Our biggest mission with our shop is to put out the best product we can produce, and this is a true testament to all of our hard work, to the 4 a.m. mornings and the times we’re leaving at 11 p.m.” This recognition not only highlights the dedication of the team but also underscores the vibrant taco culture thriving in Texas.

A Taste of Amarillo
Not to be outdone, MTZ Taqueria, a food truck based in Amarillo, also made the prestigious list for its mouthwatering birria. Taco Editor José R. Ralat described the birria as “using sirloin so tender that it shreds as cooks lift it from its braising liquid.” The tacos are crisped on the griddle, and the addition of milky Oaxacan-style quesillo creates a tantalizing experience that is sure to delight any taco enthusiast.

Wilson shared his enthusiasm, stating, “As a lifelong restaurant operator, I know an amazing brand when I see it.
